This blog is devoted to the application of optical fibers in photography. I have several homemade (DIY) flash adapters channeling the light from the flash close to the lens. The technique can be used mainly for macro photography, but I will show examples for wide angle close focus techniques as well. The recent version is called fiberstrobe V3, hence the name of the blog is "fiberstrobe".

Picture of the week (1)

My blog hasn't been refreshed recently. I was busy with other things (work, conferences, family etc.) and I've just back from holiday. I've decided to post more regularly on this blog. Minimum one post per week is my aim, but it's difficult to come up always with new shooting techniques using fiber optic adapters. So I decided to post every week a selected photo as picture of the week. The idea came from a really nice subject I found during my holiday. Usually I don't collect anything during my scuba diving but I made an exception with an endosceleton of a sea urchin. I saw underwater that it will be a perfect subject for rim-light photography. I also wanted to stack several differently lit photos together but so far it didn't work well. This photo is based on a single shot and a bit more post processing as I usually do:
